Sound Christmas homework

THE COMMUTER

How does the sound create genre?
The tension increases dramatically which is common in the thriller genre. When the woman stops talking the action begins and the music speeds up and moves with liem nesons character.

How does the sound help the narrative?
It helps to show a clear story line. Its shows that the woman has a lot of power and this movie contains a lot of violence and protntialy death but we don't see that in the trailer.

Is this sound typical for the thriller genre?
The sound effects used in this trailer for the movie "The commuter" are also used in other thriller movies so its very common and doesn't make it really any different from the other films.

Sound track- Created a gradual sense of tension. It increases very fast then action is shown increasing it even more.

Asynchronous sound- This can be seen with the movements during the short clip. When he is fighting the people on the train for example.

Sound Bridge- This happens through the transitioning of the clip. It moves every time a credit/text is show on the screen.

Sting- This happens after every word that is seen on screen and they seem to longer (the short noises). This is fir the increase in tension.

Voice-over- They would have to make a voice over to make the woman voice stand out on top of the layers of noise.

Synchronous sound-You can hear the train and things from fight scenes.
